Perhaps of Interest

This model illustrates edges of a tetrahedron transforming into three pairs of parallel sticks pointing in the three directions of a 3-axis Cartesian coordinate system.

By analogy, the edges of a cube or octahedron turn into the 12 rods of a Tetraxis star, and the edges of an icosahedron or dodecahedron transform into the 30 rods in a 6-axis or 10-axis star.
